In a recent announcement, TRON founder Justin Sun has revealed that Tron (TRX) is contemplating the adoption of a block reward halving mechanism similar to Bitcoin’s 4-year halving cycle. Tron founder Justin Sun recently announced on X (formerly Twitter) that Tron (TRX) is considering a block reward halving inspired by Bitcoin’s 4-year halving cycle. Sun believes that implementing a similar halving cycle would showcase the maturity of the digital asset. He compared the proposed halving to Bitcoin’s, which undergoes a major bull phase followed by a bearish cooldown. In the early days of Bitcoin, higher rewards were necessary for bootstrapping the network, but as Bitcoin’s price surged, block rewards were lowered, and the halving cycle played a crucial role in Bitcoin’s long-term success.
